Fyffe Country Lodge - A South Island New Zealand Luxury Boutique Kaikoura Accommodations

Chris & Colin have owned the lodge since 1996. Prior to purchasing this Rammed Earth luxury B&B lodge we owned a lodge in Nelson where Chris attended to the daily running and learnt restaurant skills whilst Colin concentrated on obtaining Crane qualifications and went on to Tug & Marine qualifications.  

This Boutique lodge in Kaikoura came with a new experience for Colin who decided to master some excellent culinary skills. The lodge now has 2 national awards and has their own brand of Seafood Chowder.

(I have to confess Colin always produced meals for the crew ) so he did have a little dab hand experience. 

Both of us work extensively in the Kaikoura B&B  lodge gardens and the greatest achievement is the amount of repeat business we have had since owning this Kaikoura Exclusive Lodge.  Some of our international guests have been back four and five times to stay with us with whilst our most repeated guest has stayed 25 times.  (A Christchurch businessman).       The weddings that are held at the Fyffe Country Lodge are a real luxury. Chris decorates the venue with some expertise to detail.  Every little detail is taken into account.   Luxurious satin chaircovers add a further dimension giving the venue a fairy tale look  - fit for a King and his Queen to be. 

Chris & Colin have entertained high profile guests at the lodge who are seeking privacy and a little R & R or often the lodge is hired out to families who gather and meet and require the lodge exclusively to themselves. 

Chris enjoys sewing and has made some of the linens in the rooms at the lodge along with drapes and other soft furnishings.  She finds working with colour stimulates all the creative senses and it goes beyond sewing to floral arrangements that can be found at the lodge. Rooms are decorated with flowers from the garden when available. Most of the year the garden produces an on going supply of fresh cuttings for arrangements.
